S.A.S.S. Underground Archaeological Space of Sas and Roman Villa of Orpheus - Christmas in Tridentum

During the Christmas period, from 22 November to 4 January 2026, the SASS – Spazio Archeologico Sotterraneo del Sas and the Villa Romana di Orfeo will welcome the public with a rich calendar of events, guided tours and special activities designed for young and old.

Between lights, sounds and evocative atmospheres, it will be possible to relive the history of Roman Trento and discover the hidden treasures of the city in a new and fascinating way.
The initiatives will range from thematic workshops to guided tours to discover the ancient domus, up to moments dedicated to music and Christmas traditions, which will make the experience even more magical.

A unique opportunity to combine culture and Christmas spirit, immersing yourself in the charm of archaeology in the heart of Trento's historic centre.

Children's rights upside-down children's rights.

• On the occasion of the International Day of the Rights of Children and Adolescents, a theatre show for children from 4 years of age curated by TeatroE with Gabriele Lentino and Valeria Casatta. This is followed by a guided tour. A show that presents children with fantastic stories and characters, to make them aware of their rights in the real world.

A Time Travel through Roman Tridentum

• Free guided tour. A route from the SASS to the Roman Villa of Orfeo passing through the archaeological area of Palazzo Lodron to learn about unpublished aspects of the city of 2000 years ago.

Just for you with the animals

• By and with Nicola Sordo. Theatrical show for children from 4 years of age. This is followed by a guided tour.
• Professor Felipe Corazon, renowned scholar of animals from all over the world, will explore antiquity to tell us how in the past humans found themselves face to face with animals.

Opening of the exhibition "The colours of Tridentum: decoration and furnishings in the Roman city"

• Mosaics, frescoes and marble finds exhibited for the first time to the public lead to the discovery of the colours that embellished the private and public spaces of Trento two thousand years ago.
• The exhibition will be open until 31 October 2026
