German pianist Jonas Aumiller is the winner of the 3rd International Brahms Competition in Detmold and silver medalist at the 12th Hamamatsu International Piano Competition in Japan. He also received the second prize and three special awards—including the orchestra prize, the Chopin prize, and a CD production contract—at the 27th Rina Sala Gallo International Piano Competition in Monza, Italy, as well as the silver medal and audience prize at the 8th Sendai International Music Competition in Japan.
Born in Munich, Jonas began piano lessons at the age of seven.He earned his bachelor’s degree with honors from the F.A. Bonporti Conservatory in Trento under the guidance of Massimiliano Mainolfi.
Since 2018, Aumiller has studied with renowned pianist and pedagogue Sergei Babayan, first at the Juilliard School in New York and then at the Cleveland Institute of Music, where he completed his Master of Music degree.
He has performed recitals in Germany, Italy, the United States, Switzerland, and Japan. Highlights of the 2023/2024 season include piano concerts with the Northwest German Philharmonic, Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra, Milan Symphony Orchestra, and Tokyo Symphony Orchestra. This season, Aumiller will also embark on a concert tour in Japan.
