In the underground floors of Palazzo Lodron located in the square of the same name in the historic centre of Trento, the fascinating remains of the Roman city emerge; a "splendid" settlement directly from antiquity reopens after a long period of closure, on Wednesday 10 July 2024 it will reopen to the public. This site, together with the Sas Underground Archaeological Space in Piazza Cesare Battisti, the Roman Villa of Orfeo in Via Rosmini, and Porta Veronensis under the Civic Tower in Piazza Duomo, represents one of the most significant testimonies of the ancient Tridentum.

The site, curated by the Archaeological Heritage Office of the UMSt Superintendence for Provincial Heritage and Cultural Activities with the support of Volksbank, preserves the remains of a southern district of the city founded by the Romans in the second half of the first century BC. Archaeological research has made it possible to bring to light and make accessible a section of the city walls, part of a road, the remains of a tower, private homes and a wine shop.
