THE MOLETA ROOM
Starting from the 1930s, due to economic necessity, numerous knife-grinders left Tesino, either with their grindstone on a cart or by bicycle. Their work consisted of sharpening every type of blade. The job was exhausting, the nostalgia for their small village was strong, but the moléta never got discouraged and continued wandering around Italy. In this room, numerous items sharpened by the knife-grinder are on display, along with a collection of truly unique photographs, testifying to a part of Tesino's history. THE ROOM OF THE PERTEGANTI From the late 1600s until 1920, many street vendors left from Tesino, who naturally traveled on foot, with their "perteghe," hence the name Perteganti. Initially, they traded flint stones, then prints, and in the 1900s they brought various items across Europe, from razors to glasses, holy cards, soaps, seeds, needles, thimbles, and other merchandise. Some of them became successful and opened numerous shops. This is why this room has a delicate and romantic decor from the late 1800s, featuring a beautiful basin with a wrought iron pitcher.
