Tasty cheese and dairy products

The Cheeses of the Dolomites

Dairy culture is one of the highest expressions of the Dolomite area, with its several products of superb quality. We mention four to start with: two in Western Trentino, the "Spressa delle Giudicarie Dop" and the "Casolét della Valle di Sole Dop", and two in Eastern Trentino, "Puzzone di Moena Dop" and "Tosella" of Primiero.

Ladine specialties

Latemar Rosengarten

In the shadow of Catinaccio and Latemar and under the Torri del Latemar we find the excellence of the culinary products of the valleys of Fiemme and Fassa and a variety of Ladin specialities. Among the many exquisite dishes, the "Casunziei" or homemade ravioli are worthy of mention, best with beetroot filling.

Satisfy your sweet tooth

Marmolada, the Queen of the Dolomites

The large glacier that dominates Passo Fedaia and the giant walls that characterise the southern slope of the "Queen" seem to recommend tasting a typical dessert of the Ladin valleys, the "torta da pavé", with chopped poppy seeds, or the "fortaies", kind of fried churros, best with red berry jam

Craft beers, the new craze

Pale di San Martino

If for the other valleys we mentioned the dishes, for Primiero we suggest another local product that is reaching significant levels of quality and reputation: the beer made with local produce, fresh water, barley and hops.

Polenta, the real gold of Trentino

Brenta Dolomites

One of the most typical dishes of Trentino - and of the Alps in general - is of course polenta. The “red gold” corn from Storo for those who love corn polenta, but also the potatoes from Lomaso, for those who prefer this kind of polenta, are both grown at the foot of the Brenta Dolomites. And to accompany any polenta, don’t miss the famous cold-cuts of Val Rendena.
