The Muse Fedaie themed trail develops in Canali Valley, at an altitude of 1,000 m, at the foot of the Pale di San Martino mountains. The path is barrier-free and offers a pleasant journey through local biodiversity.
The start is located next to Lake Welsperg, in which the Pale di San Martino Mountains are reflected, and is directly accessed from the car park along the Canali Valley road.
The Marciò Trail and the Travignolo Gorge Trail, near the Park Visitor Centre in Paneveggio, are also accessible to people with motor disabilities. When there is no snow or ice, they can be followed by accompanied wheelchairs.
The Marciò trail is also accessible to the visually impaired. This is a pleasant itinerary of about an hour inside the famous Violin Forest. The route is marked and, thanks to text panels overwritten in Braille, blind or visually impaired people can also find out more about this corner of the forest.
In addition to the information boards, you will come across small boxes inside containing branches and strobili of the most significant species: you can touch and smell them to add a sensory experience to the walk. Large wooden shelves have been engraved with the various types of roots and underground burrows made by the mammals living in the park’s forest.
Access to the Marciò trail is located at the Paneveggio Visitor Centre and is easily reached from the car parks.
Cycling trails
If, on the other hand, you want to discover the area by following cycle paths, at Cicli Bettega in Mezzano, in the Primiero Valley, you can rent bicycles suitable for people with motor disabilities: Tandem E-Twinny Plus and E-OPair. Both are electric and are designed for low gradient routes such as the Primiero cycle path, which is easily reached from Cicli Bettega. This beautiful route along the stream allows you to reach Fiera di Primiero and other hamlets in the municipality of Primiero-San Martino di Castrozza with your gaze turned towards the villages in the distance and your nose turned up towards the Pale di San Martino.
