Garda trek - Hiking at Garda Lake

GardaTrek is a network of three circular walks, divided into stages, that explore Lake Garda’s mountain crown.

There are three levels of difficulty, and the easy and medium loops can be hiked at any time of year - so you can enjoy breathtaking Lake Garda views in winter as well as summer. The third route, however, should only be tackled when the paths are clear of snow and ice.

Three levels of trek

GardaTrek’s easy and medium loops explore the lower-level footpaths around the lake, and its enchanting landscapes of holm oak, olive groves, and castles. Meanwhile the Great Loop climbs an ever-changing line between 90m and 2100m, as it crosses all the highest peaks in Garda Trentino. Its seven stages include several nights in mountain refuges, and it ends with a spectacular descent by cable car to Malcesine, before returning to the trek’s starting point by ferry.
