Divine wines of autumn

Discover the fairs and events dedicated to Trentino’s wines!

Once a year, between September and October, come unmissable occasions to be seized with both hands. This is the moment when the grapes have ripened and preparations begin to transform them into wine. At this precise moment in time, nature has worked its magic to the full, leaving the growers satisfied with their heavy, swollen grapes. Now, it is a race against time for skilled wine-makers to complete the grape harvest.

Wherever grapes are found throughout Trentino — whose indigenous vine varieties grow throughout the entire region between the altitudes of 200 and 1,000 metres — locals throw parties in the villages and on the streets. According to a tradition whose roots have been lost in the mists of time, once the work in the fields and in the wineries is complete, local communities come together to celebrate the end of the grape harvest and the freshly produced wine, giving their thanks to nature in the hope of abundant crops of this nectar in the future.

This aspect of peasant culture has given rise to events dedicated to wine throughout Trentino, celebrations that you can share with us as you discover local wines and take part in a collective moment of joy and pleasure.

Trentodoc Festival

From 20 to 22 September 2024, the city of Trento and the Trentino cellars will host the third edition of Trentodoc Festival: three days to taste, learn, share and make friends with mountain sparkling wines. A party that involves guests, insiders, journalists and enthusiasts, with a rich calendar of events: guided tastings, DJ sets, experiences in the city and in the vineyards, talks and meetings with sommeliers, chefs, oenologists, winemakers and known names from around the world of art, design, fashion, literature and gastronomy.

Dolo-Vini-Miti

Autumn is the month of wine, especially in Val di Cembra, which celebrates from 11 to 20 October 2024, the harvest with two major events: gourmet trekking through vineyards and Caneve en Festa, the festival of wineries that open their doors to guests. And there will also be masterclasses, wine events, aperitifs and visits to the cellar on the schedule on the other days of the week.

Caneve en festa

On 19th October, come and discover the typical wine cellars, or caneve, of Cembra. You’ll enjoy a meal as you wander, accompanied by choirs, folk music, jazz and rock. Each dish of typical local products like Kaiser speck, porchetta, cheese, polenta and tosella will be paired with a guided tasting of wines, sparkling wines and liqueurs, exclusively with Cembrani DOC certification.

Simposio Top Wine 2950

On 19th October in Val di Fassa, at an altitude of 3,000 m with a 360° view of the Dolomites, the wines of Trentino will be showcased at the legendary Rifugio Maria mountain lodge on Sass Pordoi. Tastings of white, red and rosé wines will be held, with culinary offerings by the Val di Fassa Association of Cooks.
