Alpine skiing champions in Trentino

The training grounds of the Norwegian and US men’s national alpine ski teams

WINTER 2023 – 2024 Trentino always welcomes – it’s in its very nature. In the same way, sport forms a fundamental part of Trentino’s character. This is why, in winter, Trentino is the headquarters of two great men’s alpine skiing teams.

For the next four years, in preparation for the World Cup, the athletes of the US and Norwegian alpine ski teams have chosen Trentino for their training.

Here in Trentino, the champions will have the ideal conditions to physically and mentally prepare themselves to the fullest for the great World Cup events. The technically suitable slopes, the care given to services, the hospitality, the location, and last but not least, the landscapes of the Dolomites and Italian Alps.

On the Paganella slopes, the Norwegian national alpine ski team feel right at home, perhaps also because that all-Italian “fjord”, Lake Garda, can be seen from the 2,125-metre altitude of Cima Paganella.

Then, the US national team are spending “four more years” at Alpe Cimbra, which has submitted its candidacy for European Community of Sport 2025.

From December to January, on the champions slope, the legendary Olimpionica2 in the Paganella Ski Area, the training of the Norwegian team takes place, which today is the most competitive team on the world scene.

In winter, at the height of the competitive season, the Alpe Cimbra – Folgaria ski area is hosting the athletes of the US national alpine ski team on the Salizzona and competitive slopes. Ryan Cochran-Siegle, Super-G silver medallist at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, will once again be taking to the slopes at Alpe Cimbra!
