Parks and Wilderness
In Val di Fiemme there are 200 trees for every tourist. Clean air, oxygen, physical and psychological well-being, this is what it means to be in nature, at the foot of the imposing peaks declared a World Heritage Site in 2006.
The two Natural Parks of Paneveggio-Pale di San Martino and Monte Corno are the jewels in the crown of the valley, treasure chests of biodiversity, where breathtaking landscapes follow one another surrounded by the bellowing of deer and the dance of capercaillies, rocks and streams, fiery sunsets and canyons that tell us pages of history.
The Lagorai, one of the wildest chains of the Alps, offers moments of secret intimacy, where relationships between people and the natural world can still become profound and allow heart and mind to be filled with time, space and serenity.
Car-Free Fiemme
An event whose fame now goes well beyond the borders of the valley. The Strada Statale 48, which connects the towns of Val di Fiemme, is transformed into a large bicycle and pedestrian trail that, from Cavalese to Predazzo, allows you to take part in a large-scale event made of music, shows, and cultural and sports activities for adults and children, as well as to stop by many refreshment points managed by local producers and chefs.
The valley takes a breath, breathes and lets you breathe, through villages and woods, as well as the songs and laughter of those who choose to put quality of life ahead of everything else.
Energy
The district heating plants of Cavalese and Predazzo use by-products from the local historic sawmills to provide hot water to the inhabitants. The valley is increasing its energy production: Ville di Fiemme, for example, is home to Italy’s largest public ground-mounted photovoltaic system. The valley towns compete in proposing innovative solutions rooted in a variety of local contexts, from water to sun, and to wood waste biomass.
