Once again this year, Canazei dresses up in magic to welcome its Christmas Market - an event filled with tradition, decorations and sweet emotions. Not in the square, but in the public park, just a stone's throw from the town centre, where the natural setting already creates a truly special atmosphere.
But why the name "Maitin"? "Maitin" is the Ladin word for for Christmas Eve Mass - that special moment when children eagerly await the arrival of the Baby Jesus and his gifts. It's this spirit of anticipation, wonder and togetherness that fills the market: a place where the aromas of mulled wine and homemade sweets mingle with people's smiles as they warm up beside the glowing braziers.
