I Suoni delle Dolomiti: Gene Gnocchi, Danilo Rossi, Stefano Nanni, Orchestra Maderna

I Suoni delle Dolomiti is a unique event. A music festival at high altitude that brings together musicians from all over the world in the most beautiful mountains of the Alps. The idea behind this initiative is simple: to combine the great passions for music, art and the mountains in a cycle of concerts under the banner of freedom and nature.

I Suoni delle Dolomiti: Gene Gnocchi, Danilo Rossi, Stefano Nanni, Orchestra Maderna. Malga Colvere (Alpe Lusia-Moena), Wednesday 6 September at 12 noon.

The meadows of Malga Canvere will be transformed into an open-air theatre to host the musical show Polimero, un burattino di plastica (“Polymer, a plastic puppet”), written by Giobbe Covatta and performed by Gene Gnocchi. The script is set to music by Stefano Nanni (who will also conduct the Bruno Maderna string and percussion orchestra) and to the viola, played by soloist Danilo Rossi. 

Polimero is a visionary ecological fairy tale in which Collodi’s Pinocchio takes the form of a plastic doll and Mangiafuoco is an incinerator. The seabed becomes so polluted that the whale’s belly is filled with plastic bags. In the end, Pinocchio does not ask the Blue Fairy to make him a boy, but a biodegradable doll. 

A bitter-sweet story in which words and melodies are laced with condemnation of a plastic, throwaway culture whose only salvation is environmental care. 

How to get to the Malga Canvere:

• from Moena, by car ‘till Alpe Lusia lifts (parking lot in the resort "Ronchi"), then by gondola ‘till "Le Cune" and on foot along paths no. 614 and no. 623 (walking time 1 hr 30 mins)
• from Predazzo, by car ‘till Bellamonte (parking lot in the resort "Castelìr"), then with the lifts "Castelìr" and "Le Fassane" and on foot along path no. 623 (walking time 20 mins)

Participation is free of charge. On the day of the concert, it is possible to go on a paid hike accompanied by the local mountain guides: € 15 adults; free for children up to 8 years. 20% reduction for Trentino Guest Card holders. We suggest to reach the venue at least one hour before the scheduled time. Adequate high-altitude clothing recommended.

In case of bad weather, the concert will take place at 5.30 p.m. at Palafiemme in Cavalese with mandatory reservation.
