DoloMyths Run Skyrace
Running suspended between sky and rock, up to the 3,152 metres of Piz Boè, immersed in the Dolomites and surrounded by epic landscapes: the great classic sky, just over a half marathon, closes the triptych of the DoloMyths Run
On 12 and 13 July, Canazei will transform into the ultimate destination for trail running with the DoloMyths Run! Now in its 27th edition, this legendary race is the third event of the GTNS - Golden Trail National Series powered by Salomon, the most prestigious off-road running circuit in Italy. Over 1,300 athletes from around the world will take on the challenge across three distances, all starting from Canazei. After the Fassa Trail and the 12K Trail on Saturday, Sunday is traditionally reserved for the queen of races: the DoloMyths Run Skyrace.
Limited to 900 sky runners, the Skyrace is an extreme challenge through rugged trails, steep inclines, and thinning air: 22 km, with 10 km of ascent and 12 km of descent, and a positive elevation gain of 1,750 m. Starting at 8:15 am from Canazei’s central square, runners will tackle a relentless climb to 3,152 m at Piz Boè, navigating the scree slopes of Forcella Pordoi before launching themselves into a thrilling descent through Val Lastiès. A technical and breathtaking course, designed to test endurance and determination. Only the strongest will conquer these mountains and get close to the records to beat: Stian Angermund (1h 51'37") and Judith Wyder (2h 14'34"), both set in 2021.
