A blue lake amidst the Val Meledrio forests, the Brenta Dolomites mirrored in its waters. This is the scene that greets you at the Rifugio Malghette, built at the beginning of the 20th century on the shores of the lake and run by the Angeli family. Up there, at 1,888 metres above sea level in the Presanella group, you can stroll around the lake, set off to discover the “Tre Laghi” (Three Lakes), or simply relax on the terrace built on stilts over the water while enjoying typical Trentino food. Open From 20 June to 20 September Before leaving for your hike, always contact the manager to verify the actual opening of the mountain hut Walks From Lake Malghette you can walk to Lago Alto and from there to the basin of the Tre Laghi in 1 hour 40 mins (difficulty E). A 40-minute walk on the path up the southern slope of Monte Vigo takes you to the Rifugio Orso Bruno (difficulty E).
