From the parking area, you walk on the flat dirt road that leads towards Forcella Rodela.
Following the forest road, you reach the Rifugio Salei in less than ten minutes. You can also do this walk with prams.
VARIATIONS:
You can also reach the hut following a hiking route that starts in Lupo Bianco locality, downhill from Canazei, after the Passo Sella - Passo Pordoi fork. You follow a very pretty and panoramic mule track, marked 655.
In this case, the walk is more challenging, with a 500 m cumulative elevation gain.
The Rifugio Salei can be reached from the bottom of the valley with the “Col Rodella” cableway. From the top station, you travel down a forest road to Forcella Rodela and then to the hut, walking in the Passo Sella direction.
Getting there
SS48 delle Dolomiti and SS42 until Passo Sella.
Parking
Free parking area near the Rifugio Valentini, just a few metres from the SS42.
