This strenuous tour takes you into the Upper Val Regnana, round a wide circuit of Valle dei Mocheni which includes rides through the villages of Sant’Orsola and Palù del Fersina, and back to the Altopiano di Piné via Passo del Redebus. Along the way, asphalt stretches alternate with dirt roads; very steep climbs with vertiginous descents. There is also a quite interesting, very technical single-track stretch just after Malga Cambroncoi.

Turn-by-turn directions

Follow the tarmac road to Passo del Redebus; just before the pass, turn right and head for Malga Cambroncoi along a tarmac road. Shortly below Malga Cambroncoi, head east on a level dirt road for about 100 m until you reach a drinking trough. Here begins a very technical single-track stretch interrupted by a brief road stretch. Leave the road and follow a track that with a few hairpin bends reaches the bottom of the pasture. At the far end of the meadow, a track takes you to the forest road below. Carry on downhill for about 100 m, then leave the road and follow a path signposted for 'Sant'Orsola' that crosses the wood you can see below. Keep on the path until it joins a dirt forest road. After a brief stretch on a tarmac road, you reach a crossroads: take the level dirt road signposted for 'Sant'Orsola'. After the village, carry on downhill, cross the stream ('Rio Fersina') and climb the opposite slope. After the church of San Francesco, reach the provincial road and follow it downhill for a short stretch. Just after Ristorante Negritella, take the steep tarmac road on the left and follow it to the Kisereck locality. At the first hairpin bend, leave the tarmac road and head north (for Tuneger) on a dirt road. After a cluster of farms, take a cobbled road that plunges towards a tarmac road. Climb along that tarmac road until you reach the first houses, and then carry on along a level dirt road on your left. After a long, fairly level stretch interrupted by a steep climb, you reach a tarmac road signposted for 'Rindel'. Follow it downhill until it joins the provincial road. Climb along the provincial road to the church of Palù del Fersina and carry on uphill along a secondary tarmac road. After a few hairpin bends, the road becomes a path which then joins a tarmac road. Follow that road to get back to Passo del Redebus and from there back to the Altopiano di Piné.

Getting there

By car: From either south or north, from the A22 Brennero motorway (from the south exit Trento south - north exit Trento north) or from the main Brennero road n. 12; continue on the Valsugana main road SS 47 towards Pergine Valsugana-Padova; when you reach the junction with the Altopiano di Piné road, turn off into this secondary road SP 83 known as the “di Piné” road.
