Our uncontaminated mountains and valleys deliver only products with unique and inimitable flavours. The Bleggio walnuts are known for their taste since the 16th century, as witnessed in ancient manuscripts: they are rather small, almost rectangular, with a thin shell. A traditional menu cannot fail to offer carne salada, usually served as an appetizer with shaved Trentingrana, or the Banale "ciuìga", a cured meat with white turnips inside - now a Slow Food Presidium - as well as mountain dairy cheese, the renowned Bleggio potatoes, the "luganega" sausage, the Storo polenta, the mountain apples and, in general, all meat, pork and beef, especially tasty in the Bleggio area thanks to handicraft processing.
