Percorsi Ice Climbing San Martino

 Percorsi Ice Climbing San Martino

Unique shapes of green and sky-blue ice, frail crystal falls set in the rocks and in the most inaccessible gullies - this is the fascinating universe of the ice falls. Every winter, near Imer and Val Noana, streams of water and narrow gullies turn into bizarre crystal shapes: climbing them with ice-axes and climbing-irons is the most recent development in the art of modern climbing. The Alpine guides of San Martino are available to accompany climbers along the most beautiful iced falls and to reveal every secret of "piolet traction", the technique that has made fall-climbing possible, equipped with ice-axe, climbing-iron, helmet and harness.
Val Noana is a deep canyon with steep rock walls, some of which equipped for sports climbing. In its first segment, it winds - evocative and wild - through gorges excavated in the rock. Then, rising up, after passing the hollow of Lake Noana, it opens up onto green meadows and pastures.
