In sight of the Brenta Dolomites on the shores of Lago di Val d'Agola
From Madonna di Campiglio, through the beautiful Val Brenta, up to the lake Lago di Val d'Agola
From the centre of Madonna di Campiglio follow the signs for the Vallesinella restaurant which you reach along an easy, level, unmetalled road through the woods. The route continues down a road signposted to Malga Fratte, then through the woods and over a bridge as far as Malga Brenta, in the centre of the beautiful Val Brenta. Continue (to the right) passing the metal barrier, placed across the forest road to stop vehicle traffic, as far as a junction with another road, signposted for Lago di Val d'Agola, 1,595 m. Pedal continuously uphill as far as the lake of glacial origin which lies at the foot of Doss Sabion, in a natural amphitheatre enclosed by the western offshoots of the Brenta chain
A break and then return along the same route as far as the metal anti-traffic barrier where you turn left down another downhill section as far as the Val Brenta forestry Nursery, established at Plaza. From here you follow the old road which was used in the 18th century by the carriages of the first tourists who were already starting to frequent Madonna di Campiglio; you pass through Fogaiard and then Fontanelle before returning to Madonna di Campiglio, the resort known as the Perla del Brenta.
