Opened in July 2013, MUSE is a dream come true thanks to a major investment by the Autonomous Province of Trento. Here, museumgoers are the actual protagonists of the visit: interactive exhibits, multimedia installations, first-hand experimentation, an attention to interdisciplinarity, and the interweaving of theory and practice are the learning tools offered by the museums to build one’s own view of the world and intervene within the scientific debate on both local and universal issues. MUSE is where the web of stories and findings amid nature and science, past and future, comes alive in experimentation, discovery and play, making it a suitable destination for family visits in all seasons.

Its architectonic structure, designed by Renzo Piano and realised in accordance with eco-sustainability criteria, is an essential added value: the building’s profile evokes the surrounding mountains, in a balance between void and full spaces which adds charm and merit to the whole exhibition.

Integral parts of the museum are then its tropical greenhouse and the new biotope, inaugurated in 2022. One hosts a piece of the East African mountains, while the other encompasses the qualities of the Trentino wetlands.
