Valli Giudicarie and Valle del Chiese
Alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, as well as showshoeing, ski mountaineering and ice-climbing in the Giudicarie valleys
The system of valleys that make up the Valli Giudicarie, only a stone’s throw away from the Adamello Brenta Nature Park , is the perfect area to enjoy winter, whether you want to go cross-country skiing or snowshoeing or want the kids to be occupied playing snow games, all in a relaxed environment with the flavours of local traditional cuisine.
If you want to do some Alpine skiing, in Bolbeno near Tione there is a slope served by a comfortable skilift. The area is particularly suited to skiing lessons, competitions and training sessions and is equipped with a snow-making facility made up of 14 snow-shooting cannons . The yougest can enjoy Bolbenolandia, the winter playground designed for kids, and the school camps.
If you want to go cross-country skiing, there is the Raggio di Luna slope, 5km long, in Bondo, in Valle del Chiese: a 2km round circuit that is also lighted if you want to ski in the evening.
Thanks to the unique layout of the land, the region can offer itineraries of varying difficulties for ski-mountaineering and snowshoeing excursions.
Valle di Daone, especially rich in water and boasting two large artificial lakes, is one of Trentino’s areas with the highest number of frozen waterfalls, all colossal in size. There are more than 130 stunning crystal walls which form in the central-high area of the valley. They serve as a good training ground and challenge for ice-climbing enthusiasts, and are home to spectacular competitions at international level.
