The Bedolpian recreational area is ideal for spending a day in the countryside. It can be easily reached by car and is criss-crossed by a range of easy paths that are suitable for families. This ring route takes you around the wooded hill that shields Baselga di Piné from the westerly winds. Apart from the initial stretch along a path, it follows dirt roads. The main natural-scientific attraction of this walk is potholes (called 'marmitte dei giganti' in Italian), i.e. cavities hollowed out in the porphyry rock as a result of glacial erosion. Further into the wood you reach Bellavista (a panoramic spot with a good view of Valle di Cembra), then Lake “delle Rane”. The Bedolpian site offers many opportunities for a rest: you will find various picnic areas (with benches and tables) not only near the lake, but also along the way.
