Malga Peniola
The peasant atmosphere, combined with tasty typical dishes, is fully worth the trip to the Malga Peniola.
The resort of Peniola can be reached from Malga Panna (above the village of Sorte) on foot or by car (only at certain times). Following the winding road with a panoramic view of Moena, you arrive at a vast plateau where there is a small church, some old barns, a few rural houses and a pretty wooden hut with a sloping roof. Maurizio, Michela and their three children welcome you! The restaurant is divided into two rooms: the stube, more secluded and intimate, covered in pine wood, and the tavern, suitable for hosting groups of friends. From service to cooking, everything stays with the family. At the table there are abundant dishes of quality and quantity. For what, in addition to the genuine sympathy of the owners, is Malga Peniola renowned? Canederli, homemade tagliatelle with Puzzone di Moena and sausage, glazed shank baked with polenta, deer chops cooked at low temperature and last but not least, "fortaes" (fried sweet in the shape of a snail served with cranberry jam) and "sones" (apple pancakes). If you are too full, you can wait for the snack in the garden! In winter there is a free shuttle service.
