The mineral water from the Ancient Rabbi Spring, with its concentration of approximately 1500 cc/l of CO₂ is considered one of the mineral waters with the highest CO₂ content out of those known in Europe and this explains why it is particularly used in balneotherapy.
An intense action takes place in the peripheral circle that leads to vasodilationand hyperthermia with a clear reduction in blood pressure. When bathing , many gas bubbles adhere to and detach from the parts of the body that are immersed in the water thereby provoking a “micromassaging” action.
There is a sense of warmth. Under these conditions the reflex mechanisms against heat dispersion do not come in action and capillary dilation persists.
The network structure of the small subcutaneous vessels is substantially rearranged due to the reduction of the parietal resistance, the sectors that were not previously functioning are opened and new blood capillaries are produced.
With suitable thermal techniques and adequate periods of treatment capillarisation is rebalanced such as to compensate for trophic diseases connected with alterations in the venous and capillary circle. The treatments are shown in the various degrees of chronic venous insufficiency including varicose veins, post-phlebitic syndromes, preparation for saphenectomy or sclerotherapy surgery, cellulite and, in general, in affections concerning microcirculation diseases.
