Placed at the foot of mountain peaks, the huts bound to remain in your heart will tell you all about themselves as soon as you walk through the door. A few black and white photographs, a hemp rope, a bunch of pitons or an ice axe hanging on the wall are enough to raise your curiosity and the desire to know more, to ask questions to whoever runs the hut, and find yourself catapulted into mountain tales. Also because of that, from 20 June, starting date of the high altitude season, reaching one of the 146 “mountaineer homes” in Trentino will be a stimulating, unique experience, not reserved however for the select few. You start feeling the excitement already at the beginning of the trail, and it is renewed at every step: at the beginning it’s the silence that gets you and then, as you go up, the widening horizon, the unexpected encounters with animals that inhabit this world made of nature and rocks, the scents, colours and reflections of glaciers, the noise of water.
