VAL VENEGIA - BAITA SEGANTINI 2170 m.
Val Venegia has a landscape that will astound winter excursionists with its imposing and majestic - while at the same time soft and enchanting - features.
Leave your car in the car park to access Val Venegia, which stands at 1700 m on the State Road from Passo Rolle to Passo Valles. All around you, you will see the great forest of the Panaveggio / Pale di San Martino Nature Park, with the magical contours of Val Venegia stretching towards the east.
The itinerary is as simple as it is wonderful. Put on your snowshoes and start making your way up through the thick forest. It will soon open up to endow you with breathtaking views.
Malga Venegia is located at 1778 m. Once there, let yourself be charmed by the view of the Pale di San Martino, as well as by its warm welcome. The mountain dairy's dishes and traditional products are a very strong incentive to taking a quick break.
The second stop along the clearly marked forest path is Malga Venegiota, at 1824 m. This mountain dairy is closed during the winter period, but provides a second rest area within this fascinating landscape. One short climb later, you will have left the forest behind as you enter Campigol della Vezzana - a large, deep, glacial valley. The path up to Baita Segantini - located at 2174 - is right in front of you and travels across the centre of the deep valley.
Take a break here to enjoy the view of the peaks that surround you. At a single glace, you will be able to see from Mulaz to Bureloni, and from Vezzana to Cimon della Pala, as these peaks that stand more than 3000 m tall pierce the skies as one.
Fitter excursionists can keep going to reach Baita Segantini. Just follow the clearly marked and almost entirely groomed trail that climbs up the gentle slope towards the famous mountain hut, overlooked by the wonderful Cimon della Pala, the""Cervino delle Dolomiti".
