Mountain range: Lagorai - Cima d'Asta
Starting point: Passo Redebus (1454m)
Total distance: 7.6km
Exposure: east, north-east

How to arrive
You can get to Passo Redebus from Val dei Mocheni or from Altipiano di Pinè. About 200m before the pass, on the mountainside overlooking Val dei Mocheni, there is a forest road that goes up to Malga Cambroncoi. At the fork, there is a wooden notice board and a car park.

Introduction
This unusual snowshoe trail goes along the road from Passo Redebus to Malga Cambroncoi, and then continues up to the extensive scenic meadows at the summit of Dosso di Costalta that is a short tract of high land bordering the south-western segment of Lagorai and a watershed between Val dei Mocheni and Altipiano di Pinè. It is a classic trail, particularly suited to snowshoe trekking due to its fairly gentle slopes and limited difference in altitude, which is ideal for a tour in an uncontaminated environment. Sometimes, after periods without precipitation, frequent use makes the route a "well-groomed path", which is practicable even without snowshoes.

Locations
Passo Redebus (1454m); Malga Pez (1560m); Malga Cambroncoi (1700m); Doso di Costalta (1955m).

Itinerary
From the car park at the fork to Malga Cambroncoi, on the side overlooking Valle dei Mocheni, go up the snow-covered path along the eastern side of Dosso di Costalta.
The path immediately goes into a wood, rises to the south-east, and then comes out at the meadow of Malga Pez (1560m). Go all around the meadow keeping to the left, pass about 200m from Malga Pez, and then go into the wood again.
From here the ascent is less physically demanding and continues along fairly even slopes as far as the meadow of Malga Cambroncoi (1704m).
When you get to this alpine dairy, cross the large meadow in a westward direction, following a flat route which then leads back into the wood. The trail becomes narrower than the one taken up to the alpine dairy and follows a series of hairpin bends, coming out of the wood again at an altitude of 1888m.
You arrive at a kind of pass between the summit of Dosso di Costalta on the left, from where you can clearly see the cross at the top, and a peak of 1909m, indicated on topographic maps, further to the right.
The trail follows a sharp bend to the left up the last stretch of slope in a south/south-west direction, through a characteristic larch wood, as far as the summit (1955m).
Return via the ascent route.

Notes
This route is well-groomed; therefore it may be a good idea to bring along a toboggan, which could make the descent easier. It is advisable to maintain a moderate speed and watch out for the many hikers and ski mountaineers who go back up the trail.
