That meadow in "Sorte"
A loop walk suitable for everyone across a vast grassy terrain. A place dear to the people of Moena because it was here that they learned their first steps on skis and snow until 1993.
A route on the slopes of the "Sas da Ciamp", on the orographic right-hand side of the "Avisio" torrent, which you will skirt on your return to Moena. The route is flat with a minimum difference in altitude and runs along a large meadow, the "Prato di Sorte". A precious fodder reserve for the valley's farmers since time immemorial. So much so, in fact, that its name derives from the civic use that was made of it, for which each year those who would be responsible for managing the mowing were drawn among the residents. From the 1960s until the early 1990s, two ski lifts operated here in winter, ascending easy blue slopes. It was therefore the place where children and young people learned to ski. Today it remains a playground open in both summer and winter, "Fiabilandia". In the centre of the meadow are the capital of St Mark, frescoed on all four sides, and the "Busa Vana", a depression in the ground in the shape of a sieve, "van" in Ladin.
