Mazzin - Val de Udai - Camerloi - Val de Dona - Res. Solaria - Mazzin

The route crosses Val de Udai and Val de Dona, two evocative, secluded, and wild places located in the north-east foothills of the Catinaccio Group. The valleys meet on the vast and pleasant meadows of Camerloi, from where the path continues to Lake Antermoia.

From the center of Mazzin, climb Strèda dò Ruf which leads onto the forest road of Val de Udai. Trail marker no. 580 enters the valley with a steep slope along the homonymous stream. You cross a bridge, reaching the right orographic side. Face a steep paved cobblestone path that forces you to proceed slowly and with effort. Then you meet trail marker no. 579 coming from Ronch (Muncion) and shortly after, you come out onto level ground to cross the bed of another stream. Shortly beyond, you cross the Ruf de Udai and enter the woods following a rather rough path. You climb approaching the powerful bastion named Zocol, from which the spectacular waterfalls of Pis (also called Soscorza) and of Spina da Lèch fall, and you brush the rock face. The trail becomes less difficult. You gain altitude walking along well-drawn hairpin turns that ease the ascent. Finally, you reach level ground, cross the stream again, and enter Pian de Udai, a beautiful basin rich in flowers in which intense blue patches of aconitum napellus stand out, along with various species of umbellifers. You start climbing again, surrounded by volcanic rocks on your left and steep gullies on your right descending from the ridge of Dò Ciuril, on the trail which crosses the stream several times. You leave the stream behind and, facing a long diagonal carved into the steep grassy slope, you exit into the upper part of Val de Dona. You descend to the right into Val de Dona (trail no. 577). At the confluence of the forest road coming from Mazzin, you follow it, exiting the woods near Residence Solaria.
