Baita del Vécio - Malga Fossetta - Cereda Pass

This hike along the northern part of the Primiero valley is a simple and relaxing walk around the Cereda Pass.

The itinerary is a great classic, offering a break from your daily routine without too much effort. The route begins to the right of Baita del Vécio with a bridge over the Rivo Cereda (a small stream), after which a series of hairpin bends on paved road will quickly take you to Cenguéi, at an altitude of 1,200 m asl. Here, you will be impressed by the lush mountain meadows (especially during the flowering period) and traditional huts scattered across the landscape. Looking up, you’ll be treated to a full view of the central mountain chain of the Pala Group.

Leaving this landscape behind you, follow the signs for trail E744 which leaves the paved road and plunges into a fir and larch tree forest, taking you all the way to Colspiz at 1523 m.asl. In no time at all, you’ll reach the Malga Fossetta and its spectacular basin.

From this scenic spot, you’ll enjoy a privileged view of Cima Palughét (Paludét) as well as a wider outlook of the Vette Feltrine and eastern part of the Pala Group. From here, there are two ways to reach the nearby Cereda Pass: either following the E729 trail or the paved road, closed to traffic, towards Cereda Pass. Once at the Cereda Pass, you can admire a beautiful mountain church and lift your gaze to the Valle del Mis.

All that remains is to end your hike descending along the Rivo Cereda, ending up back at the starting point.
