SAT / E217 - Sentiero dell'Ancino - Valle del Centa - Lavarone

A rather demanding route that starts from the deep valley of the Centa and climbs the steep orographic right-hand side of the same, until it reaches the Lavaronese terrace, at the village of Chiesa. It is demanding but rewarding for the beauty of the places it passes through.

News of the 'Via del Lancino' can be found as far back as 1192, as an important connection route between the upper Valsugana and the Alpe Cimbra, as well as between the Principality of Trento and Vicenza. It was also called the 'Via Imperiale'. It was almost abandoned following the construction of the 'Val Caréta Road', initially called the 'New Lanzino Road'. The mule track is reduced to a narrow path in several sections. Caution is recommended when fording the stream in the event of flooding. The view of the waterfalls of the Valimpach, an emissary of Lake Lavarone, is spectacular.
