“Rino Pisetta al Piccolo Dain” Ferrata
A vertical Ferrata, exposed and challenging, winding its way along the beautiful eastern face of Piccolo Dain, the peak overlooking the village of Sarche.
The Rino Pisetta via ferrata on the Dain Picol is considered one of most challenging in the Dolomites. You reach the start of the "via" from the little town of Sarche (258 m) along a marked trail. The route follows the natural shape of the mountain, with footholds and passages occasionally of considerable exposure. After reaching the summit at an altitude of 967 m, where the eye can sweep the horizon with its many peaks, you come down on an easy path to Ranzo, then back to the valley bottom. That said, it is quite obvious that before attempting this climb you should have an adequate athletic training and be supplied with all the necessary equipment. It is essential to bring karabiners, helmet, cord and harness, and a companion, preferably more experienced than yourself.
