The ancient Latemar cliffs
From Pampeago (1557 m), the western wall of Latemar can be seen in all its magnificence and grandeur
Along the grass carpeted ski slopes you come to Ganischger Alm (2010 m), also reachable by the lifts, and then, following the waymarks 504 and 516, Passo Feudo (2121 m). An hour's walk among the ancient Latemar rocks brings you to Rifugio Torre di Pisa (2691 m) overlooking the incredible eastern amphitheatre of Latemar, where you will immediately discern the structure of the ancient marine barrier and imagine the huge tropical lagoon that used to cover this area in ancient times. From the refuge, path 516 goes to Forcella dei Camosci (2590 m) and then drops down (waymark 18), first among rocks and then sparse groups of Cembro fir trees, to the Oberholz chairlift, where it intercepts waymark 23 that, bearing left, leads to Passo Pampeago (1990 m) and then reaches Ganischger Alm again.
