At the foot of the Lagorai "peak"
From Predazzo, an easy unpaved road rises to an altitude of 1600 metres and the attractive grass plain of Valmaggiore, the ideal departure point for entering the heart of Lagorai
An easy paved mule road, recalling the long years of the First World War (waymarked 335), enables you to cross the (drumlins) morainal ridges leading to Forcella di Valmaggiore (2180 m) and the Paolo and Nicola Bivouac, ideal for a rest and equipped for overnight (if your rucksack is not too heavy, take some pieces of wood with you to light a fire in the stove). From the pass, path 349 goes along the whole of the northern slope of Cima di Cece, the highest peak in the group. Having reached the north ridge, you can now safely put your best foot forward to reach, in less than an hour, the summit of Cima di Cece at an altitude of 2754 metres and then descend the east flank, along some tracks, to Forcella di Cece below. Path 349 goes to the same pass (2393 m), always skirting the summit. From the pass, you turn downhill towards Fiemme on path 336, passing the lakes of Caserina and Cece, arriving at Malga Campigolo and then the unpaved road that takes you back to the Valmaggiore bridge. At this point it is another hour’s walk to reach the centre of Predazzo.
