Ischiez Barefoot Walk
Get close to nature by walking barefoot in Moena in Val di Fassa
The Ischiez Barefoot Walk was opened in the summer of 2011 by the famous barefoot climber, Tom Perry. It is designed to offer a sensory, postural experience and close contact with the natural environment. The route offers a variety of materials to walk through: water, moss, ferns, sand and pine bark beds, surrounded by rare plants and flowers. An area of woodland is set aside for meditation, where visitors can search for a sense of inner peace.
How to get there: from the centre of Moena proceed on foot along the Malga Roncac forestry road to Ischiez, where the barefoot walk starts. Highly visible wooden panels give directions and provide information and fun facts about the Walk and the surrounding environment.
The path wends its way through the woods for about 1 km and is suitable for all ages and abilities. It starts from the little wooden bridge and ascends as far as the confluence of the Costalunga and Peniola mountain streams before returning to the starting point.
