The Chamber of Commerce of Trento currently uses Palazzo Roccabruna to promote the land and its products. Its striking rooms - which boasts an artistic heritage of huge value - are used to host events and exhibitions with the aim of inviting consumers and enthusiasts to discover traditional wines, foods, and handcraft and industrial products of the Trentino region.
Each week, its well-stocked Enoteca Provinciale provides guests with tastings of its high-quality Trentino wines.
The building was erected in the 12th century and was owned by the Roccabruna family. The history of the palace can be traced back to the Council, when Claudio Fernandez de Quignones - known as the Count of Luna, orator of Philip the II of Spain - used to live here. Later on he got despised by his king for being unable to stop the Council's conclusions. The Roccabruna family worked together with the Princes and Bishops of Trento, and played a key role in the urban renewal of the city during the Council. At the beginning of the 18th century, the palace passed into the hands of the Gaudenti family and after changing several hands, entered into a long period of decay. A painstaking intervention to recover the palace began in 1998. Since 2002, the building belongs to the Chamber of Commerce of Trento.
