Centro di Arte Contemporanea
Documents, photographs and artworks from the Futurism to today.
The Contemporary Arts Centre is an institution belonging to the Municipality of Cavalese, and was established thanks to a donation of paintings by a collector, who has been living in the town for long. Opened in June 2001, the centre became immediately very popular and enjoyed great public success.
Located in Palazzo Firmian in Cavalese, the centre features an impressive collection of works belonging to various different artistic periods - spanning from Futurism to the present day - displayed on the ground floor, while the second floor is dedicated to a wide selection of works by Bruno Munari. Approximately 200 autographic documents and a series of photographs signed by Fortunato Depero - one of the leading master of the Futurist Movement, who was born in Malosco in Val di Non - are also showcased at the centre. Furthermore, the centre organises and promotes a teaching laboratory for kids and youths, which focuses on Munari's teachings. Group visits shall be booked in advance.
