Varone Waterfall in the footsteps of Thomas Mann
“The Gateway to Hell”: this was how 26-year-old writer Thomas Mann, a relative unknown at the time, dramatically defined the Varone waterfall in his notebook. Open to the public since 1874, the “Cascata Varone” quickly attained the status of must-see tourist attraction. Inspired by the words of the German author, professor Franco Farina guides participants in reliving his emotions before this breathtaking spectacle of nature.
