Trento Musicantica - Heavenly and gracious voices

Friday, October 4, 2024 at the "Castello del Buonconsilio" in Trento will be held "Trento Musicantica 2024 - 38th edition - Celestial and courteous voices".

The intense calendar of "Trento Musicantica", an international festival that explores the rich and varied world of ancient music, continues with a new appointment on Friday, October 4, 2024 in the Sala Giuseppe Gerola (formerly Marangonerie) of the Castello del Buonconsiglio. The protagonist of the concert is the "La Reverdie" ensemble with Claudia Caffagni voice and lute, Livia Caffagni voice viella flutes, Elisabetta de Mircovich voice viella ribeca, Teodora Tommasi voice harp flutes and Matteo Zenatti voice harp tamburello, a formation engaged for over thirtyyears in an intense musicological, concert and recording activity.

The name of the group, inspired by the poetic novel that celebrates the spring renewal, reflects the spirit that animates its members, aimed at finding an ever new approach to the different styles and repertoires of the vast musical heritage of the Middle Ages and the early Renaissance. Since their inception, the musicians of the ensemble have considered it essential to combine singing with instrumental practice, developing a common language and sound that make La Reverdie unmistakable both in the mixture of voices and in the sounds of their instruments. The concert in the programme, entitled Il Paradiso di Francesco, immerses itself in the cultural climate of late 14th-century Florence and is dedicated to the work of the composer Francesco Landini (1335-1397). Among the most famous polyphonists of the so-called Italian "ars nova", Landini, despite his blindness, excelled in the study of music and all the liberal arts; admired by his contemporaries, a great improviser on the organ, singer and player of various instruments, he was also a musical theorist, poet and narrator, a scholar of rhetoric and dialectics.
