The Sounds of the Dolomites

The original project by Vittorio Ghielmi and his Suonar Parlante Orchestra can be found on the way to Malga Canvere, in a landscape that alternates between wooden huts and flowering meadows. Founded by Ghielmi and Argentine singer Graciela Gibelli in 2007, when it consisted of the original set of viola da gamba players, Il Suonar Parlante Orchestra has performed in the world’s most prestigious concert halls.

Regularly invited to play at the Berlin Philharmonic, Salzburg Festspiele and the Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid, to name just a few, the orchestra performs a classical and historic repertoire alongside new, contemporary and innovative projects, using the technique that Paganini describes as Suonar Parlante (Talking Sound).

The ensemble has mastered this art of reproducing the human voice with instruments to the extent that the album Full of Colour has been recognised by industry critics as “a revolution in the sound of historic instruments”. To mark this event, they will revisit their Baroque repertoire with Gypsy style sounds.
