Snowboard FIS World Cup Carezza
The winter season opens on the Carezza Pass with two competitions valid for the Snowboarding World Cup
ATTENTION: The opening of cultural and tourist sites, access to them, to public transport and to the services described in these pages is governed by the containment measures put in place by the government authorities and the Autonomous Province of Trento to deal with the COVID-19 health emergency. The rules may vary over time and provide for the application of different security measures — from closure, to social distancing, to the mandatory use of personal protective equipment such as gloves and masks. We therefore ask you to consult the section Travelling safely on this website and to contact the managers directly for updated information on how to gain access.
The winter season 2020-2021 in Val di Fassa opens with the Snowboarding World Cup which takes place on December 17th and is disputed on the sunny slope "Pra di Tori" at the Carezza Pass. The place, far only 9 km from Vigo di Fassa, is in the list of the Italian locations chosen by the international Ski Federation to host the competitions of the Snowboarding World Cup. On Thursday December 17th the best professional snowboarders defy one another in two competitions: women’s and men’s giant parallel slalom. Among champions, Mirko Felicetti from Moena is listed as possible winners.
The programme (which might be subject to changes) includes lots of "green" entertainment, such as concerts, shows and fireworks display. There is also an area devoted to the sponsors of the event.
This is another important success for the Val di Fassa-Carezza ski area which has been chosen as FIS ski training centre for the national male and female teams since 2006. The valley is once again under the spotlight on occasion of the night slalom race (valid for the Alpine Skiing European Cup) which takes place on the dreaded Alloch piste in Pozza di Fassa.
