The pleasure of a special book. Encounter with the author Alfredo Paluselli and projection of the docu-film "Tita Piaz - Il Diavolo delle Dolomiti"
The whole life of Tita Piaz, famous climber from Val di Fassa that passed away 70 years ago in August, is as gripping as his achievements. To commemorate his value and his meaning for the local history as well as for the whole environment of mountaineering, the festival "I Rifugi del Gusto" organizes a special encounter. So, on Sunday 23rd September at 2.00 p.m. in the Gardeccia basin, the new book "Il Diavolo generoso. La storia di Tita Piaz il Diavolo delle Dolomiti" will be presented. Its author, Alfredo Paluselli, grandson of Tita Piaz’s cimbing companion, has collected important unedited documents, witnesses and pictures about a life of adventure, mountaineering, two World Wars, arrests, scandals, tragedies and love till the unexpected very epilogue. A projection of the docu-film "Tita Piaz - Il Diavolo delle Dolomiti" on the big screen will follow.
How to reach Gardeccia: from Vigo di Fassa with the Catinaccio cable car (lift included in the PanoramaPass) to Ciampedìe and then on foot (45 minutes), or from Pozza di Fassa with the shuttle bus service (departure point at the car parks in Pera).
