Opening ceremony Junior World Ski Championships
Piaz Marconi in Canazei will host the 38th edition of the Junior World Ski Championships with a program that represents the tradition of the valley, highlighting the legends of the Ladin tradition
The first act of the Junior World Ski Championships, scheduled in Val di Fassa from February 18 to 27, will start at 6 pm on Monday, February 18, in the main square in Canazei. After the greeting of the "Procuradora del Comun General de Fascia", Elena Testor, it will all be about the athletes involved in the competitions. The young (under 20 years old) champions will parade along the street Strèda de Parèda towards the town centre, to the rhythm of the music played by the brass band "Mùsega Auta Fascia". After the Italian flag, celebrated with the National Anthem, the FIS flag will enter, brought by a component of the Organising Committee of the 2018 edition, which took place in Davos, and by the FISI president Flavio Roda, who will give it to Davide Moser, president of the local Organising Committee. After the formal part, the ceremony will continue with the most spectacular part of the evening, the narration of two legends from Val di Fassa, the one that reveals the genesis of the lunar pallor of the Dolomite rocks, linked to the "Salvans" and their magic world, and the one about the origin of the "Enrosadira", the magic atmosphere that characterizes sunset and dawn.
