A dessert that tastes like Trentino
In July and August, the pastry, ice cream and chocolate shop “La Perla Nera” invites you to taste its flagship product that won the 1st prize at the 2019 Italian Strudel Cup Championship.
You are on the Brentonico Plateau as a guest in Fatima‘s laboratory, an expert pastry chef who prepares every day high quality ice creams, chocolates and pastry products. Here you can taste “The butterfly of Trentino“, an exquisite strudel prepared with local products: Trentino apples, Monte Baldo honey, wine, grappa, walnut flour and raisins, but not only. In fact, you will also find the flavor of pine nuts, almonds, vanilla beans, butter and even a pinch of cinnamon. The presentation is really innovative: a puff pastry wrapper worked with a special wood effect that makes it look like a real tree trunk. The decoration, with apples cooked in isomalt, recalls the symbol of Trentino, the butterfly. On the side, you will also be served a special strudel ice cream, awarded in 2018 at the Reggio Calabria “Scirubetta” Artisan Ice Cream Festival. You can also choose to combine your strudel with a glass of “San Martim” sweet wine of Grigoletti winery that goes perfectly with this typical dessert. In addition to the usual Thursday and Friday afternoon appointments, other special events await you on some summer weekends:
