Put the cutlery up in the air. In Val di Fiemme, in Capriana, you can taste good food while walking. Guess the gadget? A picnic kit with pieces of cutlery, glasses, plates and the course map that every participant can wear around their neck to start the third edition of Magnatonda de Caoriana, on Sunday 7th October.
This footrace for foodies is for people who love taking their time to go slowly and taste the best local products.
The tourist event organization of Capriana Dal’Aves al Corn invites you to a 14km-long food&drink walk from Val di Fiemme to Anterivo in South Tyrol. The loop course starts at 10:00, in the school courtyard, where you can have breakfast. The course is suitable for everyone and for country pushchairs. There are 8 tasting points. The price is 25€/person. Discounts for kids and families. You can taste organic yogurts, appetizers with the white wine Müller Thurgau, the mountain dish with polenta, egg, melted cheese and cabbage salad, fruit, apple fritters and much more. To burn calories you just need to walk to the next tasting point. This events aims to let many people discover this place, give them the chance to stare at the surrounding landscape and taste the local products.
Along the course you can visit the mill of Beata Meneghina, the church of Carbonare, the larchwood and the Giocabosco where your kids can play. You can assist to a show by Filodrammatica di S. Martino di Fornace, a workshop on the extraction of larch resin with Mauro Iori, a presentation on herbs by Carlo Signorini, a presentation on the glass working by Selene Signorini, a workshop for kids on the cheesemaking by the cheesemaking factory “Val di Fiemme Cavalese”, guided visits to the mill of Beata Meneghina and guided hikes.
At the arrival at the school courtyard, you will taste chestnuts, must, meatballs, strudel with mushrooms and cheese, cold cuts, Vienna sausages and homemade bread to the sound of music. Besides the farmer’s snack, here you can buy some 0-km organic products by Rete di riserve Alta Val di Cembra Avisio and the associations ValbioCembra and Bio Bono.
