Lighting the first Advent candle
In accordance with tradition, the first candle of the Advent wreath is lit in the square in Canazei, a moment full of atmosphere, accompanied by the notes of the duo Dami Dellantonio and Leo Dalla Cort
Advent, as much loved by children as by adults, is one of the best times to immerse oneself in the traditions, lights and scents of Val di Fassa, at the gates of winter. To make everything even more special, the picturesque markets of Campitello, Vigo, Soraga and Moena. The first Advent candle, known as "of the Prophet" in the Christian rite, will be lit on Saturday 30 November at 5.30 p.m. in the main square of Canazei. Immediately afterwards, the atmosphere will come alive with the notes of Dami Dellantonio, accompanied on keyboards and piano by Leo Dalla Cort, an artist of great sensitivity and musical talent. The duo will offer a programme that ranges from jazz classics of the last century to Italian songs, both original and reinterpreted, exploring a sound that combines jazz sonorities with forays into soul and Black Music, the fruit of their rich experience gained in a life dedicated to music.
Damiana Dellantonio was born in Cavalese in 1994. As a child of art, she started performing in local contexts when she was very young and over the years her stable groups were formed, with which she sang a repertoire ranging from jazz standards to covers of the great pillars of funk, acid jazz and soul music. She studied the fundamentals and graduated in jazz singing at the "F.A. Bonporti" conservatory in Trento and Riva del Garda, while at the same time taking individual lessons at the Saint Louis College of Music in Rome with teacher Serena Brancale, with whom, in addition to her training, she began an artistic collaboration. Damiana, in addition to teaching singing in various schools, dedicates part of her artistic activity to writing and producing original material, managing in 2019 to record the ep "Plastica" with a tracklist of six original tracks. In his music, Dami combines soul, pop and jazz, demonstrating his desire to move between different sound dimensions.
