Krampus parade in Pozza di Fassa
Great parade of the evils called "Krampus" around Meida, with the mythical characters that traditionally come with St. Nicholas to the villages in Val di Fassa
Around 1000 "devils", guided by the local group "Krampus da Poza", coming from Trentino, South Tyrol and Austria, will take part in the fifth Krampus parade, along Strada de Meida in Pozza di Fassa. According to the tradition, these devils accompany the arrival of St. Nicholas on 6th December. These figures, characterized by an animal-like and diabolic aspect, are a fundamental part of the Ladin culture, deeply linked to the rituals of the season change. Their mission, traditionally, is to frighten the "naughty kids", and not only...
The parade, dedicated to a brave public, becomes bigger and bigger as the years go by: about 30 groups will take part in this year edition, on 2nd December.
