Italian Aspirant Ski Championship
The best skiers under 18 years old compete on the slope La Volata for the title of National champion
The Italian Alpine Ski Championships are organized by the Italian Federation of Winter Sports (FISI) in collaboration with Sci Club 2000 Vicenza and the lift companies of the valley and they assign the national cup of the winter season 2018-2019 for both men and women.
On La VolatA at San Pellegrino Pass, the best athletes under 18 years old (born in the years 2001 and 2002) will challenge one another in two disciplines: superG and downhill skiing, to show their skills of future champions.
The quick and demanding slope on San Pellegrino Pass (departure at 2,510 m by the top station of the cable car Col Margherita; arrival at 1,879 m; length 2,350 m; altitude gap 631 m; maximum incline 57%, average incline 30%), will host the training of the Italian Alpine Skiing National Team. Thanks to the continue and profitable collaboration between Val di Fassa and the Italian Federation of Winter Sports, the athletes have the chance to prepare for their races on the most difficult tracks of the local ski areas. Already confirmed, moreover, the presence opf the French and American National Teams during the winter.
