Saturday 28th August at 9.00 p.m. in Piaz de Ciampedel in Campitello di Fassa. A year-long day: the life of the shepherds. Evening with the photographer Giancarlo Rado. The photographic journey includes 40 photos that describe the day of the shepherd from dawn to dusk. The transhumance represents the most interesting aspect of the shepherd's life; the continuous search for grass to feed the flock obliges to the continuous nomadism according to a cyclic path that goes from the mountain to the sea and vice versa, following the course of the great rivers: Piave, Livenza, Tagliamento, Brenta. But it is the relationship with nature that strikes and excites: the days pass without time, marked by the rhythm of births, movements, and the care of the lambs. Here then is the wonder of dawn, the sudden nightly snowfalls in spring in an alpine pass, the uncontaminated territory of the pastures at high altitude and the degradation of the plain. This is a landscape in rapid and unpredictable transformation, which can be perceived from a distance, where those timeless figures silently wander.
