Happy Cheese On The Snow

Enjoy some ski days with local cheese and wine tasting on the terraces of panoramic refuges, guided visits to farm houses and breweries of the valley

Ski and cheese: a winning couple that in Val di Fassa takes the shape of Happy Cheese. The trendiest aperitif in the Dolomites comes back on track to descend to the valley and lead you to the discovery of some treats and original cheese-making techniques, achieved with mountain cheese factories’ milk, expertise and passion. The star is going to be 0 food miles cheese - particularly Puzzone di Moena Dop and Cher de Fascia, plain or reworked with tasty finger food – paired with a selection of green-soul wines from Trentino, mountain sparkling wines by Trentodoc or typical local craft beers and tasty apples by La Trentina.

Add to that the whiteness of snow, March’s sun, the breath-taking views on UNESCO’s Dolomites, which you can enjoy from the huts’ panoramic terraces, and the hospitality of the valley’s pubs and wine bars. The result? A rich schedule of aperitifs, for real cheese lovers and ordinary gourmands.


Programme Happy Cheese Val di Fassa

  • Friday the 4th of March at 10.00 a.m. - Agritur El Mas (Moena)
    Happy Cheese Inside - Maso Tour. An exclusive cheese experience with a 360° tour of the milk industry, from the barn to the aperitif with farmstead’s cheese and wines from Trentino, together with the dairyman Peter and Michelangelo, the farmstead’s owner. Paid activity: € 15 adults, € 10 children up to 12 years old. Phone reservation within 6.00 p.m. of the day before (tel. +39 340 5831022); max. 25 people. 
  • Wednesday the 9th of March at 4.00 p.m. - Rampeèr Inn and Brewery (Campitello di Fassa)
    Happy Cheese inside - Beer Experience.Guided tour of the brewery with tasting, narrated by the producers of four craft beers paired with just as much cheese by the cheese factory Mèlga de Fascia. Upon phone reservation within 12.00 p.m. (tel. +39 339 4033901). From 5.00 to 7.30 p.m., "I magnifici 4 (The Fantastic Four)” (reservation not required): enjoy your aperitif in the company of others, with four different craft beers paired with four cheeses by Mèlga de Fascia.
  • Sunday the 13th of March from 11.00 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. - Baita Checco (Ciampedìe ski area-Vigo di Fassa)
    Happy Cheese Sound Dolomiti Ski Jazz.The cheese by Mèlga de Fascia in a gourmet version, thanks to the chef’s fantasy, paired with the wines by Cembra Cantina di Montagna. The aperitif will be livened up by the author notes of Furio Forieri & Ska-J band.


Happy Cheese aperitifs are for a fee, with a price starting from € 8 (reductions for children and for those preferring a non-alcoholic drink with apple juice by La Trentina). The fares don’t include potential lifts (tickets available at the local cash desk). Dolomiti Ski Jazz concerts are free instead and thereby included in the price of the drink. For Happy Cheese Inside events, reservation is required by the production place, in order to take part at the guided tour, as explained in the programme. The schedule might change.

The aperitifs are taking place following the Anti-Covid rules in force. To take part a Reinforced Covid-19 Green Certificate is required, except for children under 12 years old and those exempt.
